'Tis the season to think

Happy Holidays to everyone, i know it's that time of the year and you might call me ebonezer scrooge (ha spell check) not because i don't like the holidays but for what i'm about to say and what people do on them, but honestly it's something that has bothered me since i was little and i never got a direct answer for all of this.

WHY oh WHY do people ONLY want to give on the holidays? Anytime the major holidays come along (New Years,Thanksgiving,Christmas, etc) people feel like its just their born destiny to go on this giving binge. Don't get mad at me, i have no problem with people giving or anything, my direct problem is that it has to be turned on because of a holiday! seriously? a holiday?

I remember a few months ago, probably middle of october or late september i was at walmart. I was with my mom and her boyfriend and we were shopping, as we're checking out all of our groceries i notice a homless man just sitting on the bench and i'm thinking to myself "I wonder if he's aten today?" so i notice that we bought some apples. Now some people who will remain nameless (no its not my mom or me) seemed to feel "stingy" with what we just bought saying i worked hard for this money and to buy these groceries. I stared and shock and said we don't even eat apples like that and they're probably going to go to waste and i can afford to miss one meal. So i picked out 2 apples from the bag and handed them to the homeless man he thanked me graciously and anciously bit into the apples.

There wasn't any holiday,no public service announcement, nothing. That was just an act of kindness "SELF" triggered, a crap load of emphasis on self. Now why isn't it like that all the time?I mean yes i know there are the ones that actually do this and i applaud you because you actually GET it. But anyway, i'm sorry for the dissapointment and i wish everyone happy holidays and i send out to EVERYONE even though i know not many people read my blog ;) you can give anytime you want, and you don't need a fancy post card saying " 'tis the season to give" just to do so =]

Pursuit of Happiness

Whoever said happiness was overated, possibly and obvioulsy might have never had one ounce of happiness in their life before. Today i was so happy? exuberant? I don't even know, almost like the world was just in a complete center of itself, and the weird part was, it was a self started happiness. No it wasn't because of another person, no it wasn't because something happend, and no it wasn't because i got something. I just felt completely and utterly sane and in love with life that i didn't have any worries, almost like a high. I mean don't get me wrong I am normally a happy person but I don't know, today was just...different? Now your probably wondering, what the heck is this girl talking about? Well i'll just give you a short little recap. I woke up went to cheerleading try outs (a first for me) to support one of my friends, I made the team and was shocked, but I later then found out that I couldn't do both cheerleading and basketball, so i told her i had to decline. Then I went to a volleyball tournament and hungout with some of my friends and their girlfriends or significant others however you want to call them and thats when the odd contentment high came on. It wasn't forced, or pretended, it was right there. So eh? you may call me weird or borderline insane, but i don't care because I'm proud to say that i got a sliver of happiness in my life that some people are never able to witness in theirs. And to think some people GIVE UP on happiness, ha now i know why people fight for it.

-No paper would do it justice.
it is a thing not of the mind,
but of the heart.
A feeling only felt.- anonymous

Sincerely,
Lonnie.

Noticeably unnoticeable

Why do the lengths of Barbie dolls skirts seem to get shorter and shorter? While teen pregnancy increases and gets more common? Why school days seem to get shorter and shorter while job interview lines for mcdonalds gets longer and longer? When wishing to be back in kindergarten at snack time coloring outside of the lines is more desired then despised? When you were younger adults tell you the world is your oyster, but to your somehow suspected surprise you later discover that that the world is almost dead? It's cold and has a faint heartbeat. Why are marriage durations decreasing while people say their love for one another is increasing? It almost seems hopeless huh? Until we find that something that keeps us sane, and when we do we hold onto it likes its our last breath of life? We do these things because its the faint heartbeat of the earth, we want to make it stronger, more powerful. But its like we're programming our world to fail, with the new generations coming into the world seeing these things, they're thinkings its almost "acceptable"and "common" thats like shooting yourself in the brain with a shotgun, no chance of recovery. You hear people constantly saying, change this change that or Peace this Peace that. If the whole world so called has this sense of "Peace and Change" then why aren't we all on the same page? Why are we still fighting battles we aren't going to win? Its a lose lose situation because we're all fighting for the same thing. That's almost the problem, fighting one another when one another is the soultion.

eh well all isn't well that ends well half of the time.
